Wifi driver got deleted, how to re-install?

I upgraded from xp to win 7 on my Acer Aspire One 532H, I choose to format my driver to start with a clean computer. I tried to connect to wifi but I couldnt, turns out my wifi driver got deleted, I download the driver and I ran the setup but its still not showing up in device manager. The wifi driver is Atheros 8.0.0.259. Ive tried everything and I cant use the ethernet cord forever. Please help.

The device should show up in the Device Manager even if you don't have a driver. This points to a hardware issue.

Simplest fix is to get a USB wifi adapter, which will have a new driver, and bypass the issue.

Aboslutely the Netgear N600 should be fine!

Make sure to use the latest driver on the Netgear site, and not the one that may have shipped with the adapter on CD as it is likely not current.
