Hi,
I have recovered one of my friend's external hard disk using 7 data recovery software(google it you will find the software). I did the scan by selecting the external hard disk and then I got a list of files and I recovered the files. So my question is while scanning and recovering process is there any possibilities that the software might scan my internal drive(which i have not selected) or recover some files from internal drive? My next question is how did the software know to scan the selected drive not the other one? Thank you

Solution
In case you were wondering, there is a good data recovery program called Easeus Data Recovery Wizard. It allows you to select specifically which files you want to recover from any selected drive.

Edit: Not so sure about 7 recovery software how it works but like suggested above, most data recovery programs work that way. (You can specify which drive to recover the files from)

It probably defaults to the external disk. If you take out the external disk while being into that program, it will most likely go to your main hard drive

It wouldn't scan your internal drive without specifying it as the drive to scan. This is how all data recovery programs work that I came across myself.

Thank you very much for your answers.
So according to you if I will recover files from the scan list then not a single file will recover from my internal hard drive.
