Hi Friends,

Three weeks ago, I called someone via Skype and they couldn't hear me. I figured this was a simple problem, but I got distracted and only got around this today. I've been through a NUMBER of forums with this issue, but nothing I've seen has solved my problem. I have tried 2 USB headsets and both work on other computers. Here's a summary of everything I've tried:

- Control panel, set headset and microphone to default, mess with level settings, ensured microphone wasn't muted.
- Uninstalled devices (headset and microphone) using the basic PNP driver.
- Changed privacy settings to allow apps to access microphone
- Attempted to update motherboard settings (already up-to-date)
- Ensured there weren't any windows updates
- Tested both headsets on different computers and verified that headsets and microphones work.
- After messing with the above, Skype no longer gives me the 20 seconds to record, but cuts straight to the "if you're hearing this message and not your own voice", so something seems to have changed.
- Tried sound recorder, which does not work.
- Tried to set up microphone which did not register my speech.
- Ran troubleshooting which could not find a problem.

All in all, I sense there's a simple/stupid explanation, like maybe I muted my microphone somewhere and/or keybound it and forgot.

Any guesses?
