I'm looking to buy a laptop for studying (highschool and later university) and casual usage between classes and travelling (internet browsing, games like minesweeper and solitary) under 500$.
since I'll probably be next to a place to charge I don't need a huge battery life but at least 5 hours.
don't need touch screen.
I want a windows laptop

thanks for all the help

do you think investing in something like the XPS 13 worth it?
+ it's gonna be like 4 years before I start college so will it last that long?

I'm probably gonna go to something like best buy to try laptops, so internet shops won't really help.

The Dell XPS 13 is a good laptop especially if you are looking for something small and light.

Will it last you until you start college? Well, that depends on you mostly. People usually start to feel the need to buy newer desktops / laptops after a few years since they see newer and faster models available. For basic everyday use a laptop can last a long time assuming it does not break / malfunction. Get the Core i5 version rather than the Core i3 since it is more powerful which means it should take longer before you feel the laptop is no longer powerful enough for what you want to do.

I'm gonna go with what you linked me, seems like a great deal.
