I'm looking for a new laptop and have ran across a few that I like. But I don't know which to get due to different processors and graphics card and I'mnot very good with tech like that. I want my laptop to be rather quick and be able to play games and run programs well. One is a HP Pavillion with 8gb ram and 1tb hard drive with AMD Quad-Core A10-4655M APU with AMD Radeon HD 7620G graphics. The other is a Dell 8gb ram with 1tb hard drive with AMD A6-6310 Quad-Core APU with Radeon™ R4 Graphics (but in the description it days intel 4400 HD graphics...) and a refurbished dell 8gb ram with 1tb hard drive with 4th gen i5. Thank you so much for any help!

Hello Bkd_t9

In my opinion, it would be good if you go for HP Pavillion with AMD Quad-Core A10-655M. Although all other specifications of the second laptop are identical to this one, HP laptop's processor's clock speed is 2 GHz and Turbo Boot is up to 2.8 which gives this laptop an upper hand.

About the graphics card, AMD Radeon HD 7620G in HP Pavillion would allow you to play most of the games. However in some games you may need to adjust the game resolutions and other settings to medium to low.

I would not recommend you to choose a refurbished computer for durability reasons.

Hope this helps. Good Luck!!

Definitely avoid the A6-6310; it is pretty weak.

The is not much actual game benchmarks for the A10-4655m's integrated Radeon HD 7620g as far as I can tell. I would guess that it has the similar performance to the Intel HD 4400 in the Core i5. But the Core i5 is definitely more powerful when it comes processing power. Below are links to game benchmarks using both iGPUs. Note that some games will have multiple FPS benchmarks which is based on the specific laptop that got those results. Click the FPS number to see the laptop's specs. Laptops with Core i3 CPUs will likely provide lower results while quad core i7 CPUs are likely to provide higher results.
