I'm having similar issues. I also have a Godlike Board, i7-5820k , I run windows 7 sp1 on HDD WD10krpm, and am going to be reformatting on an SSD with windows 8.1 per MSI support reccomendation. I've been able to achieve a stable overclock of 4.2 ghz at 1.3v. This was done when I reformatted, installed basic driver necessities, and disabled all windows updates. It ran ARK on pretty full tilt on a 60hz monitor at about 40fps with a 970gtx overclocked to like 1500hz. GPU 100%. Temps on CPU never reached about 55C GPU 55C Max and same with board temps... Liquid coolded Kraken X61... Garbage: Cam software sucks, pump is constant at 2800 rpm and cpu fans can be controlled but not without affecting pump. Due to 4pin pwr connector, tried adapter today. Failed. I only have 1 CPU fan enabled, I had hooked a case fan upto CPUfan2 to see if it would help and did not. I am over all very satisfied with all the hardware i've purchased, including MSI's God Like Motherboard, but have been let down tremendously by Software, intel included. I am struggeling to install Intel ME drivers right now. I've reformatted since previous benchmarks, due to AFK. and Since troubleshooting it this time, I've recieved minimal errors with Gaming APP as well... But you're right its in the RootKit, and I don't run Gaming APP on OC because it fucks with OC GENIE, (WHICH ALSO BLOWS) I Don't use that, I disabled it. Much Better. OC genie Tried to run it at 2.5V. I wasn't feeling that. Overall the board has taken tremendous wear in the time it is used, and has held up. I'm impressed with the quality of armor, and do enjoy the lights. I wish it did not say godlike, but I do find myself punishing people on CSGO in a disgusting manner, but I will be sure to copy this review and paste it around on the forums I have been reading and so on. I've done a lot of research and playing with my rig, so i understand its highs and lows, and what will make it work better. I'm not throwing in the towel on ths MSI board, and I am a strong Intel supporter. I love the HDD because its oldschool, i love the sounds of the disks, but SSD is the way of the future. I will keep the HDD in some manner, but am looking at the intel 750 and samsung... I cannot Recommend NZXT's Kraken, AT ALL. AT best i'm lucky it hasn't exploded yet. No sounds. But regardless. Will be buying Corsair. Top of the line. I have only ever used EVGA graphics cards so, I have once again been impressed. Precision X gave me me trouble on my initial install, and depending on how you set your NVIDIA graphics, it can find itself being locked at a higher baseclock, which some users may be fine with, others may not... If temps and functionality don't suffer, over time, its fine.
Mike_44 :
I'd be interested in hearing back on these solutions.. as the 'cd/dvd' for my MSI x99 godlike' had' an intel driver, it is a more recent driver.
The gaming app worked (I just wanted access to the 'mystic lights) for me, then failed after trying the included sound program on the 'DVD' in the same session.
'Gaming app worked.. once, never again, and I'm not sure what essentially 'rolling back' to an older intel driver will do as to the functionality for other ME dependent processes.
MSI created this debacle of restacking drivers and I had immediate intentions of getting another "Godlike" for a duel system, no longer/mystic lights inoperable no matter the gaming app version- inoperable, access/permissions, reloads. Too much time is wasted reformatting the machines to figure out a gaming app as is going into rootkits to find remaining sys32 drivers left over, from uninstalled app.
