Upgrade Options for My Samsung Series 5 Ultra laptop ?

Solution
You cannot upgrade that particular CPU (it's mounted to the motherboard, not removable). It is a pretty decent chip though, so I really doubt that's your problem here.

Have you used any software to monitor your laptop's temperatures? This sounds more like a heat or a software problem, not a hardware failure.

One thing you should be able to upgrade is storage drive. It looks like this model comes with a 500GB hard drive. If you an afford an SSD, those things fly!

Laptop cpu and graphics are rarely upgradeable.
But, one of the very best performance upgrades is to swap out the hard drive for a ssd.
It will make a huge difference in everyday usage.
If you care about gaming and fps, then you just need a new laptop.

yea I am going to do the ssd and see if there is a free ram slot. Those things I can figure out. I just wasn't sure if I could swap the cpu for a faster one with the same socket. I dont care about games on the laptop. Just want it to be able to browse the web without it locking up or stuttering.

Thank you,

Yea possibly an issue with flash since flash has been garbage for over a decade. I don't think it's temps but I didn't check them. I literally never use this thing so I don't think there is any dust issue inside. The Laptop comes with 5gb flash storage too so it should have a half ass SSD. I am also going to get a 256 gab SSD for it. I noticed that the flash was using over 90% of the cpu that's why I thought it was struggling.

Gotcha. Usually something like that is a software problem; sometime a virus, even. You can use the Windows Task Manager (if you're running Windows) to see what, specifically is using so much of the CPU.

And your flash storage sounds like a caching SSD; it's like having a hybrid drive, which is mildly faster than a typical mechanical drive, but profoundly slower than using strictly flash storage for all of your computing. :)
