3.5mm audio to bare end cable issue. Sound system & Amp related.

Hi there, I have a sound system ending with 3.5mm male aux audio cable and I need to find a way to plug that into my amp without splicing and/or destroying my cable. Maybe a pre spliced cable or an adapter or something like that. Looking for ideas and suggestions before I make any decisions. I've included a diagram so hopefully it gives a better explanation of what I'm trying to do.

what speaker system? is it self powered (if it is, stop here since you do not want to use an amp with it!) if its NOT self powered then double check that your amp is the correct size.

speakers which use 3.5mm as input generally are either self-powered (which dont need an amp) or low power (so only a very small amp is needed). most speakers which require an amp of sorts use either binding posts or speaker wire.. i dont think i've seen one which needed to be amped yet had 3.5mm as input.

as some of the comments on your image suggest.... depending on what you're trying to hook up this might end badly.

as long as you understand the risk and are sure you're doing it right, the best solutions to the wire issue are below..

as to answer your question.... either buy another 3.5mm female cable, lop the end off and use the wires as such or use a 3.5mm to rca splitter and lop the ends off. the ground wires would not be used in this case.

its also possible to use regular speaker wire and a DIY 3.5mm female plug end such as ones which look like http

i'll also note that 3.5mm cables generally are generally thin and will not support much power through them.

again, not sure what in particular you're trying to hook up but its sounding to me like you're trying to hook up an already powered speaker set to an amplifier which would result in blowing your speakers or damaging equipment

After reviewing what you have said I realized it is a complete recipe for disaster. Both the sound system and the amplifier have their own power source. This automatically makes them incompatible. Not sure why I didn't think of this myself. I think I will just go out and buy a brand new system and save myself a house fire.
