you 860m will last you for quite a while... nobody can say for curtain how long it will last. consoles are a bit different in that aspect e.g. :
ps3 came out in 2006
and ps 4 came out in 2013
that is a 7 year life span! but after those seven years ps3 was really out dated and was asking for a refresh and new substantial hardware!
additional the games developed for a console are developed specifically for that device PS3 ,PS4, Xbox1...
where a pc game must work on all and any pc to get the most money even if it runs slow (min requirements) and then they PUT recommended requirements on the box now so you know rather it will actually play well on your pc/laptop or just stutter around. (somebody prolly got sued!)
console games dont have to deal with that they just develop games for one piece of hardware and then port it to a pc later if ever (that is why there are so many bad ports of games out there and constant updates).
the only good reason to have a console is the setup, you plug in and play (when you dont have to DL 50 gigs first ) and the occasional title that is only for xbox or PS4.
for everything else a PC is far superior

now i think you may have to upgrade you SSD for you laptop if you dont have one in there and or buy a new battery cause itlle dye sooner or later. but other wise i bet you will drop it or break it or something before that laptop reaches 7+years of or you'll sell it and buy a whole new one by then because in 7 years alot can happen and buying another gaming laptop will prolly be a different priority for you then. ;)
