So my Acer Aspire V3-771G-9456 battery only lasts about 45 mins when unplugged now, so i went searching for a new battery. When I pull the old battery, it has 2 numbers on it, AS10D51(31CR19/66-2). When googling those 2 numbers i got a few different results and Some 10.8v and some 11.1v. Also they ranged from 4400mAh to 7800 mAh and 6 cell or 9 cell. Should I only be replacing with another 10.8v 4400mAh? Or can I buy a 11.1v 7800mAh 9 cell? I would love to have the extra run time of more mAh but if it hurts the laptop, its not worth it.

You can buy the 9 cell, but expect it to stick out of the laptop with a hump. It will last a good bit longer then a 6 cell. If the connection works and the volts are the same it is fine. BTW 10.8...

BTW 10.8 vs 11.1 is the same thing (11.1 is 2 seconds after you take it off the charger. 10.8 is normal use not charging. That is just a way for manufactures to make more money and advertise.)

So it is ok to upgrade to more cells and more mAh as long as the connector and the shape fits? Thanks!

Yes just make sure the volts are correct.
