HDMI to AV -> AV to USB between blu-ray player and my laptop?

Dear all,

I bought a blu-ray player with HDMI output and want to use my laptop screen to watch blu-rays. Do you think it will work if I connect the blu-ray player to my laptop via two HDMI to AV connected to AV to USB converters?

You might get that to work but it will probably not look good, Why not use an external BD drive like this one

BluRay HDMI is encrypted (unless you watch home movies), so HDMI->AV will not produce anything watchable.
You can get BluRay external drive for like $35 these days.

Your laptop video connections are output only, you can't use the screen to view external sources without a lot of modification and using the connectors will cost as much as getting a Blue-Ray for the laptop, and would look horrible to boot, even if the copy protection did not stop the video, which it will.
