well game debate says they are almost comparable ( geforce 820m is only 17% more powerful than hd 4400)

Actually, I was thinking of the 840m. The 820m is still somewhat better than the HD 4400, but not by a lot. And I wouldn't put ANY weight behind ANYTHING on game debate. Since these are too low, and mobile, Anandtech bench doesn't have them for comparison, but in all honesty if you plan to do any half decent gaming, you don't want either of those adapters.

i know they're both pretty weak but still how much better is a dedicated gpu than an integrated one for gaming?
(considering only older games like skyrim,burnout etc.) how much difference in performance does it make?

Generally, quite a bit. If both those are on the same unit, it pretty much has to have a worthwhile benefit or the manufacturer wouldn't bother with the expense of including the discrete card. Most discrete adapters that are even half decent blow the integrated graphics out the water. The newer Intel Iris and the AMD R9 series integrated graphics are much better, but still not as good as most discrete adapters.

hmm,sounds like i missed out on a good deal then,i was getting a laptop with 820m only for a little more money than hd 4400 but what the hell i'll play whatever games i have to play on low,Thanks.

Depending on the model of your laptop, you may even be able to add a discrete adapter at some point down the road. You'll have to do a little research to see if any sub-models of your model may have come with a higher end graphics card, or if your unit has the necessary adapter slot, and if so you can probably upgrade to one later if you feel the need. Good luck either way. Depending on what you play, the HD 4400 may be plenty for your needs anyhow.

YEAH,i think so because i did some research on hd 4400 and someone on youtube played gta 5 at 25-40fps with only hd 4400 and no dedicated graphics.How is that even possible?
