Hi,

I have an A-20-K Pioneer amplifier connected to an Xone 23C Allen and Heath mixer for use with my (very old) turntables.

I recently moved house and brought my equipment with me. Since I set it up again there seems to be a problem between the mixer and the amplifier, even though it used to work perfectly well.

If I try to use any volume controls on the mixer the amp cuts out for 3-4 seconds with a 'click' sound, which cuts out the speakers. Then it starts up again and continues working. The sound quality is fine and the amp works well without the mixer connected (if I connect an iPod, for example).

I think I've located the clicking to where the speakers are connected to the amp (this amp requires copper cable, not jacks) and have tried cleaning the dust away to see if that helps but nothing has.

Can anyone please help me?!?!? Thanks!!!

Hi
That click is probably the speaker protection relays working meaning that it is trying to output too high a level.
Are you sure that you have plugged the mixer into the amp correctly,it should be plugged into a line level input such as the cd input and not the phono input (phono inputs are for very low level inputs).
