Hi, I'm having trouble with my screen going black repeatedly while playing games. The picture comes back after a few seconds and sound and input still works while the screen is black.
My machine is a GIGABYTE P35W v3-CF1 (Ultraforce) laptop, 15.6
CPU: Intel Core i7-4710HQ,
Ram:8GB DDR3L,
SSD: 128GB mSSD
HDD: 1TB 7200rpm HDD,
GPU: NVIDIA GTX970M 6GB GDDR5
OS: Windows 8.1
The display the games are running through is a Dell U2515H 25-Inch LCD Monitor, 350 cd/m2, 2560 x 1440 set at 59hz (max of 60hz) connected to the laptop by displayport.
I've tried out GTAV and Killing Floor 2 both with high graphics settings and both run well (40-60fps) but are having the same problem. The intervals between the screen going black seems random, sometimes a few seconds sometimes minutes.
I noticed in divice manager I have both an intel hd 4600 and GTX 970m connected as display adapters. If i check the properties of both of my screens it shows they are both connected to the 4600, is that correct? Does the gtx only kick in when required?
I've updated the drivers for both but that hasn't helped.
I've searched for an answer but I can only find instaces of a permenant display failure or a system crash so any help provided would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
