So i uninstalled norton 360 because it was using like 40-65% cpu at all times. i thought that was the problem until i downloaded AVG too, it did the same exact things. this does not happen on any other computer except for this one. What do i do?

i am not scanning anything

AVG Prot. Service = 41.3%
AVG Online Service = 5.1%
AVG Shield Service = 0.5%
VProtect Application = 1.5%

That's just under 50% and there's prolly AVG activity hidden in some of those MS services

I get 4-10% while running a full scan w/ BitDefender .... 0-1% when running in background.

Question: Why is there a McAfee icon on your desktop ? Norton, McAfee, AVG .... you can never have two active AV scanners resident at the same time. You can use a 2nd AV in **passive** mode... that is runs scans but doesn't monitor your activity w/o issue but two active scanners is a invitation to problems like yours. You also have Advanced Systems Care which also scans for malware

Suggest that you:

1. Uninstall all security applications
2. Use any special 'remove tools" on the manufacturers web site for each application (check vendor forums)
3. Run Appremover
http://www.appremover.com/
4. Use Ccleaner to remove any reference to McAfee, Norton, AVG and anything else that mighta been in there.
5. Reboot and use ccleaner again to make sure

Reboot and install just one AV application

where do i find these features?(EDIT: found them) and secondly nobody has told me how to fix my problem lol

What features ?

From above post:

1. Uninstall all security applications

Uninstall AVG
Uninstall McAfee
Uninstall ASC

2. Use any special 'remove tools" on the manufacturers web site for each application (check vendor forums)

Visit the vendors web sites and go on the forums.... look for (do a search on) "removal tool". If you find one, download and use it

3. Run Appremover
http://www.appremover.com/

Download and Run it

4. Use Ccleaner to remove any reference to McAfee, Norton, AVG and anything else that mighta been in there.

https://www.piriform.com/CCLEANER

Run the registry cleaner checking 1 box at a time in the left panel.... carefully review the results for anything that includes any of the recently uninstalled programs and check the box for that line. When done, tell it to clean those entries.... it will ask if you want to save a copy in case you want to undo.... say yes, if you are afraid you might have checked something you weren't supposed to. Repeat for each of the remaining checkboxes on left

5. Reboot and use ccleaner again to make sure

After you have done that, we will be able to diagnose if anything else needs to be done

If the problem is resolved. next we will .....

http://www.av-test.org/en/antivirus/home-windows/

click on the top of the column that says "Performance" or "Protection"

Start working ya way down from the top till ya see something you are comfortable with
