If you are using a cable or set top box try unplugging it from the wall for 5 minutes, plug it back in and let it reboot. If this doesn't help then check that the SAP (secondary audio channel) is not engaged on the TV. This is a little used feature so if it is on and there is no secondary audio you would get no sound. This would be in one of the TV menus or on the remote.
