Long story short, bestbuy can't fix my old laptop, they said they'll replace it with an equal value laptop ($999.99). I'm going to pick it up tomorrow, any ideas on which one you'd pick? I've been browsing bestbuy.ca but nothing seems appealing.

They also said that I can pay the difference on something better, unfortunately I don't have too much cash, maybe $100. If you show me a laptop that's more expensive than $999 make sure you post one also in my price range.

Sorry what a noob mistake. I'm hoping it will be able to run starcraft 2 on decent settings in terms of gaming, and I also record music through cubase, (USB in).

Yeah I used to play a lot, haven't touched it since sept. because of school but I want a machine that'll play it once I start again.

Yup, so far that's the only one I've seen worth looking at. The selection is awful, but I guess that's what I should suspect from a major ret. and my price range. Unfortunately it's out of stock at the store I'm going to so I'm hoping they don't pull some bull shit excuse that it has to be a laptop they have in-stock at the store or something. Maybe I can even convince them to give me the $100 deal I just missed out on, considering I had to phone them about it for 2 days.

I don't really know the Canadian-to-US currency exchange, and frankly I'm too lazy to look it up. But I know that I've seen laptops for around $900 USD with better graphics cards than that

Ended up going with the Dell. Obviously OP doesn't realize that it has to be purchased from Bestbuy and that we've been using .ca links lol
