I have an Acer S200HL external monitor. The "port" that I plug the power cable in, came off of the video/circuit board. How do I fix it? Do I need to buy a new board or can I just buy a replacement port and exchange the ports? I was planning on fixing the monitor and selling it, is it worth it or should I just throw away the monitor?

It really depends on how the power broke off. If it came loose from the circuit board you could probably just solder it back on if you have a soldering iron and know how to solder as long as the circuit board wasn't damaged. If the circuit board broke apart around the power jack, it's toast so just pitch it.

If you have to buy tools to do the job it may not be worth it unless you just wanted the tools anyway.

Here's a link to some good service info with pictures. Click on the Motherboard option to see what you are getting into.

One of the metal "prongs" at the bottom of the power port came off so is there any way to just replace that or should i just scrap the entire monitor?
