Connected hw-j550 sound bar, does search and doesnt find tv

I bought a Samsung soundbar, got it all hooked up with the sub woofer. Everything looks good except when I turn it on it does a search for the Tv and unable to find it. The hdmi cable doesnt go all the way in the slot. I got it as tight as I could. also do I need an optical cable too?

Try another HDMI cable.

Try an Optical Cable instead.

Thank you for your answer. This was the HDMI cable that came with the set. Do I need both? I do not have an optical port on my TV.

You only need one of those cable. Both carry audio.
