- 256 SSD
- 8 gb Ram
- Windows 8.1 Pro
- Intel 5300u or better (5th gen. i5 or i7, i7 is best though) could get away with a 4th gen.
- MUST have active stylus (Wacom or N-Trig) which really limits my options

If anyone knows of anything that fits those requirements I would really appreciate the help.
I've looked into the Surface pro 3, Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 12, and Dell Inspiron. I don't know if there is anything better or not.

Thanks for the help

I think that is what I am going to have to get. The Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 2 2nd Gen can be built to fit the requirements. But it ends up costing $1925. It probably has better performance than the Surface Pro 3, but the design is not as great. Any others that fit the mold? I could probably get past with a 4th gen processor, so does that really open up options?

Well, in relative comparison, the pro 3 would win. It's has the best functionality without breaking the bank. As for other option, Dell venue 10 pro is available and the only other alternative if you don't mind compromising performance. I really like Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2, but that's andriod and again doesn't fit the requirements.

Actually Yes, they do allow me to use an external tablet. Once you said that I looked at the Reqs and they say that it is an option. The tablet itself must fit within these parameters:
-Windows 8.1
- Any Intel Processor (for me the faster the better)
- 2 gb RAM
- 64 gb SSD
- Active Stylus (Wacom or N-Trig)

If you know of any that are pretty good and under about $600 that would be great. Any price is fine really, as long as I can get the laptop and the Tablet for under $2K

How is the Dell Venue 11 Pro? I don't know much about it.
