Wise to trade in my current laptop for a new one? No extra cost.

I've got a Dell laptop that I have had almost 2 years with Intel i7 3632qm 2.2ghz, 8 RAM, Radeon 7730m and a samsung SSD.

I see that I can now buy a new HP Envy with AMD A10 5750m 2.5 GHz, 8 RAM, Radeon 8750m and an SSHD thing.

They are both similar in every other way.

I can literally buy that new HP for what I can sell this Dell one for (HP one is on a very good deal). I know the Dell is slighlty better, but the new HP has warranty, a longer battery left and is just new and hopefully more reliable.

Would it be a good move to sell the Dell and buy the HP?

It has a marginally better gpu for games, but overall performance will feel slower moving from a ssd to a hybrid drive, which is essentially just a hard drive, with a fast boot extra.

So you have checked the differences, and are satisfied?

If the new laptop can perform all the tasks you need it to for the next couple of years, and you think you will be happy with everything else about it (ergonomics, etc.), it may very well be worth it just to get the warranty. Although I have no idea whether new HP laptops are built better or worse than 2 year old Dell laptops.

All I do on it is internet, music, play counterstrike and the usual office stuff. Bit of photo editing too.

I'm not convinced about the longevity of this Delll laptop. Had ok experiences with HP laptops. Better than the Dells so far anyway. Never had any laptop last more than 3 years before being a junker.

Then I'd go for it. The essentially 'free' 1 year warranty is just icing on the cake if that's how you feel. :)
