So I was looking for a new laptop for use during college and I wanted something I could use for gaming when I'm away from my desktop as well as any schoolwork that I have to do on the go. The types of games I'd be playing wouldn't be very intensive, if I do play some that are intensive, I don't mind playing on low settings, after all it is a laptop. However, I think I narrowed the options down to two. One being the ASUS ROG GL551JW-DS74 and the other being the Lenovo Y50-70 Laptop - 59443536.
These are the specs of the Lenovo. ($1,179)
These are the specs of the ASUS ROG. ($1,238.98)
The main difference I am seeing between the two is that the 960M in the Lenovo has 4GB of VRAM and the ASUS one has 2GB.
Also the Lenovo doesn't have a optical drive, but that doesn't concern me very much.
I also heard that the ASUS one doesn't have the best speakers and that doesn't concern me very much either as I'm not an audiophile and I would be content with using earbuds.
I'm just wondering which one would probably be the best choice for me as they are both very similar in price points. Also if there is another laptop that is better than both of those and I haven't seen it, that would be appreciated too.
