I have an ASUS laptop with windows 8.1 and i have the error 0xc0000185 with a blue screen. I can't find the CD for the laptop and it won't boot up for me to use it at all. It will take me to the Aptio Setup screen though. Any advice on how I can fix it?

I'm not sure what Error Code: 0xc0000185 is, but from my searches it looks like you have a missing system file or it's corrupted. Power off your laptop and power it back on while pressing the F9 key repeatedly until recovery console boots. Click on "Advanced options" and select "Automatic Repair" to see if that fixes your problem. If not, try to do a system restore to an earlier working state. If that doesn't work too, then you're going to have to do a Refresh of your PC (this option is like a repair install and keeps your files, but uninstalls your programs and apps) or Reset your PC (this option will restore your PC to factory default settings, the way you first received your laptop. All your personal files, programs and apps will be removed.). Also if you are unable to get into recovery, then you need to get a USB Windows 8.1 installation media or DVD, to repair or reinstall windows.
