Hi TG,
Yeah this is my first post - and yes I have Googled and searched, but to no avail.
I have an MSI GT70, I love it but am now getting some random blue screens and garbled screens, so I reckon a hardware problem coming up.
I have two 1 TB SSDs on this thing, which I want to keep (obviously!).
I travel a lot, far, and I am now really pissed with lugging this thing around.
My question is - is there a slimmer, lighter laptop which will give the same (ish) performance?
I do game but I can live with slightly reduced gaming performance - but I do a lot of video encoding so I do need some horsepower.
Sorry for the long intro, and hello!

Perhaps the 15.6" ASUS ROG GL551JW-DS71 with the GTX 960m could be an alternative. The GTX 960m's performance is closer to the GTX 860m than the GTX 870m. As far as I can tell it only has room for one HDD / SSD. It weighs 6lbs.

Another alternative might be the 15.6" HP Omen 15 which has the GTX 860m and weighs in at 4.7lbs. It only has one slot for a SSD as well. One deal breaking issue could be the rubber mesh on the underside of the laptop which covers the vents and props up the laptop for air to enter the laptop. It must be removed if you want to replace the 256GB SSD. People have stated you...

People have stated you need to be a bit gentle when removing the mesh which is not a big deal, but if the mesh does not stick to the laptop when you reapply it, then you will need to use an adhesive.

Based on reviews the HP Omen has pretty good cooling when under load (about 80c) and if you use something as simple as plastic bottle caps to prop up the rear of the laptop temps under load drops by
5c to 10c.

I don't know of a relatively light laptop which can accommodate two 2.5" SSDs off the top of my head.
