Best gaming laptop Under $1500??

Solution
Both laptops you have mentioned are very high end laptops and should be able to play the current games at high settings easily. Now these laptops are serious gaming machines which are designed for the hardcore gamer.

But as you have said that you only play light games, these maybe a bit overkill. I would look for a laptop with a gt 840m which is ok and can play games at medium settings for most games and should give you enough battery life when you are in collage. But this will depend on the games you play.

Keep in mind that the more you spend on a laptop the more likely you'll be disappointed with the graphics performance when you realize that the laptop graphics cards are not nearly as powerful as their desktop counterparts. With that kind of budget you're honestly better off getting a $400 laptop and putting the rest toward a good gaming desktop, that way you get the best of both worlds.

I wouldn't touch anything open box with a 10 foot pole. A lot of stores put open box stuff back on the shelf without marking what it was returned for, and you're pretty much at your own risk buying this stuff. Most open box items also aren't covered by manufacturer warranty either.

What kind of light gaming? What games. You are spending a lot on a gaming laptop when you could get a decent laptop for about 1200$ that would fit your needs fine.
