Hello guys,

Since my headphone and microphone cable got snagged behind my desk chair, causing both the plugs to be pulled from the audio sockets, the microphone input doesn't work properly anymore.
While the headphone plug always gets picked up immediately, when I plug in the microphone jack it takes some twisting around to get it detected, but always disconnects shortly after. It then keeps connecting and disconnecting.
I suspect it's the connection in the socket itself, but I'm not sure. Could you help me out?

-The front audio panel is the standard panel found in my Aerocool V3X case.
-The connection to the motherboard ( Asus M5A97 LE R2.0) is fine.
-I'm using Realtek HD Audio Manager

If there is anything else you need to know before you can help me, please let me know.

Kind regards,

Thijs

see in device manager, does it show whether driver installed.? Is it showing yellow color or what.? Try uninstalling / Rollback driver n then re install. Try your headphone/mic with some other pc to be sure whether its doing same thing with other machines or only with this one.
Get a USB adapter with audio/mic out, n try connecting through it.
