Hello.
Few days ago,I've told you I choose to buy a Lenovo G505S.
Today,I've got my time and I'll wait until November to pick one up.
P.S:I can wait even more.
But,few seconds ago,I've found another Lenovo.

Which one is better in gaming?
As always,best regards.

Solution
I could give everyone an answer, but that would be a 2 page post. Here is a summary.

You don't need a blow torch to burn out a cpu. They do wear out sometimes.
AMD A10 isn't super expensive http://www.ebay.com/itm/AM4600DEC44HJ-GENUINE-ORIGINAL-AMD-MOBILE-A10-4600M-SERIES-CPU-2-3GHZ-/291461880249?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43dc7b59b9
They do raise a good point the i5 is better and the gt720 is better, but less vram then the hd. I have an hp envy with good gpu and only 1 gig of vram and it could use more.
There is a slight price difference
Neither one is super good at gaming
I can say that the second one in some areas will perform better and the amd will have its good parts too.

These laptops are very close and it won't make a...

Neither of those are good for gaming. What sort of games are you intending to play?

Keep in mind that laptops can't be upgraded significantly, it is worth getting a laptop that is above your minimum requirements as you will otherwise need to buy another laptop very quickly.

The GT 720M is a dedicated graphics card that is at or below power of many Intel chips. The AMD line of CPUs are very lackluster.

That is a hard choice to me. I would lean toward the first one. My friend has had it and it was solid for him. The second one seems a bit low on ram and the gpu is only 1gig dedicated. The i5 is a better cpu, but the other one has a better gpu and more ram.

PS: he is considering selling it, because he can afford a desktop now. I can probably get you a good deal on it. It is in good condition.

Is exactly what I wanted to discuss.
The AMD A8 4500M APU CPU can be replaced or upgraded by what many users said here on THG.
Also,I haven't found a place to say it can't be replaced or upgraded.
My intention is to get one with a repairable CPU.
Another one has the Intel i5 3230,which can't be replaced or upgraded at all.
What would you do?

The amd can be upgraded to the a10 and I know for fact the g505s comes with one dim of ram allowing for upgrade in ram.

How about its HDD & GPU?
What do you know about these?

And the A10 is still slower than a decent i5 processor. AMD does not have mobile CPUs that are any good for gaming. On the desktop side they have the respectable Fx-6300 that pairs with anything short of a GTX980, but on the laptop side they just can't cut it and are outdated rapidly.

Even so,I asked you about the both, considering in replacing their CPU over the time.
I'd choose the one which is letting me to do it.
Won't you do the same?

Just because you can upgrade the CPU does not mean you can upgrade it to anything good.

Yes you can upgrade to an A10, which is still less then an i3 in cpu performance and less then a 840 or 750 NVidia gpu chip.

The gpu and cpu are integrated on the same chip. The gpu on the a8/a10 is better then a NVidia 720 or integrated intel graphics to where it will play games on low to medium settings, maybe high on 1366x768 resolution screens. But even if you upgrade it to 16gb of ram, add an ssd drive and the best cpu you can get for that laptop, it will still be a low end laptop with a weak a10 and apu graphics (not to mention a huge waste of money).

You should really just be looking at saving for a Y50 line of laptop that has the actual performance to play games. You cant expect to get the 120 hp car, do an engine swap to 160hp and then expect to play at 400hp level; doesn't work that way.

The second laptop is pointless due to its super weak gpu (is it even better then the integrated graphics on the chip?).

But in regards to i5 with no upgradability, I will chose that over an upgradable a6/a8/a10 every day of the week because the i5 will do doughnuts around an a10.

No, I wouldn't. Upgrading a laptop CPU is a fool's errand at most levels. You have to purchase another processor (which when purchased by itself is very expensive if you can even find it), you have to upgrade within the limitations of the laptop's power and motherboard. The total cost when you buy an AMD a8 processor laptop, then upgrade to a top of the line a10 is more than if you had purchased a decent intel laptop with a processor more powerful than the a10 to start. (On very VERY expensive laptops, they have modified desktop motherboards, allowing you to swap in new CPUs and GPUs as they come out. Cheap all the way up to Performance laptops purchase bare bone components that are soldered directly to the motherboard to save money and space)

It's so much simpler, cheaper, and runs no risk of destroying your laptop out of warrante if you just buy the better laptop to start.

This laptop here is a far better deal (Yes it's 50% more money, but it will last more than 2x as long before it becomes outdated).

The only parts you should touch on a laptop are the Hard drives and Memory sticks.

You can swap out HDD for SSD on any laptop, and pretty much any stock laptop has a single memory stick allowing you to double your RAM with a second stick.

If your CPU gets burned, either you are abusing your laptop with a blowtorch, or it is a major manufacturing defect which is covered for 24 months (Plenty of time to see if they put thermite on top of the CPU instead of a heatsink).

Modern CPUs protect themselves very well, they will slow down if they get hot, and turn off if they reach critical temperatures well before they start to burn anything.

That intel i5 has way more reliability over the a8/a10, just looking at heat and power requirements alone is going to last longer. I get many laptops that come to me for repair, I have had ZERO with a dead cpu, I have had 2 with a dead GPU chip, 90% of them have dead motherboards (not counting all of the cracked screens). None of us choose a significantly weaker computer because we can replace the part that has a super low failure rate.

You can replace the hdd or sdd in every single laptop out there, even a super small/thin ultrabook you can replace the SSD chip in it.

If you want our advice it is that it is more expensive to buy your low end laptop and try to upgrade it, then it will be to get the right laptop the first time which will also have a much higher build quality. All of that upgrading and it will still perform significantly slower then a Y50 or similar laptop.
At the rate you keep ignoring what we are telling you, its like you are just wanting some justification for going cheap, if that is the case then get your cheap junk and you can make up whatever justification you want.

Yes, because as anybody who has flown an American Airport will tell you that not all security is equal.

Most of it is just for show, nobody says: hey, how come these seats are so hard to remove from my car? What if I get mice living in them? If a dealer tried to sell you on that as an optional feature with an extra $100 price tag per seat you would laugh in his face (Unless you wanted different seats from what is offered by default anyways, but at that point you don't care about the mice).

Maybe try saving for a better laptop? Build a desktop?

or (not trying to be a salesman), buy my friend's laptop for $300.

He is right. Worrying about replacement parts is a bigger concern in desktops then laptops.
