I'm going to college next year, and I want to know how important battery life is. The GS60 has a 970M, making it much better performance wise than the 960M of the G501, but the G501 has a significant better battery life(7+hours). My question is will the GS60 get me through a days worth of classes, or should I opt for the G501 for the battery?
GS60-064:
Better performance, 200$ cheaper, multicolor keyboard
Bad battery life, runs hot
G501:
Great battery, cooling is good, fast SSD
Not-as-good performance, 200$ more expensive
Can anyone give me their opinion on which I should get? Anyone who owns a GS60, how is the battery life? Is it as bad as they say in the reviews? Or is it actually better than the 2 hours people were complaining about? I don't mean like... "oh yeah you can get 3 hours if you go on power saver mode and turn everything off and lower the screen brightness to 0%." If I just use it for normal web browsing, etc, what would I be able to get? I'm asking a firsthand user, because one review I've looked at said 5 hours and some said 1.5 hours, so i don't know.
I'm always open to new options, if anyone has suggestions. Razer Blade 2015 is the perfect laptop i'm looking for(performance, battery life, portability, light weight) but 2700 is.... no. The 1080p model only comes with 256GB of storage and 8GB of ram.
