My Dell Inspiron 15 7000 series turns on but doesn't function

I pressed the standby button last night and when turning the laptop back on it just stalls. The screen comes on but im unable to interact with anything. I managed to get to the task manager via the keyboard but once on there i am unable to click anything still

What's it doing if you restart it?

So you're keyboard is functioning within windows? If you haven't tried, make sure the touchpad is enabled (there should be a shortcut to enable/disable on your keyboard) or try and use a mouse. If that isn't the case, have you tried booting in safe mode? Hit F8 on startup and go to Safemode with Networking and see if you can operate your computer anymore from there?

really late reply, i apoligise. It works fine when i restart it, it happens quite often when i put the laptop to sleep and turn it back on a few hours/ days later and it just stalls

same goes to my colleagues laptop. (same model etc)
