Greetings. Hopefully I am posting this in the right area, if not I kindly ask a moderator to move it.

First of all, it's a discussion to buy a small-sized (12-13'3-14) laptop with a dedicated graphics card, to use for my 3D projects (Maya and 3ds Max). I will even consider a 15'6 laptop giving the situation at hand, but please recommend something that does not exceed 2.5kg. Put the charger and all in, 4kg should be the maximum I would want to carry.

Budget wise, let's say 1000-1500 Euro. I already own an Alienware laptop which is too heavy to keep carrying around. I'd rather just leave it at home as a desktop replacement or taking with me on my abroad trips, that take longer than a few days.

Graphics wise please a Nvidia 800m or 900m model or a ati model 270m or higher.

I can't really find something decent on the net, so I am asking, is there anything coming up soon that is worth buying or is there a model offering what I require currently?

Thank you to anybody that takes it out of their time to answer.

Regards,

Roy

For a fast graphics card you won't find a very light system, it needs a decent size case for the heatsinks and heat dissipation. Alienware 13 is probably the best small laptop, but I think it's no longer made and there may not be a replacement for that size.
