Help with ad-problem in multiple devices in my network

Hello,

I'm having a problem while surfing the web with all my devices: Windows 7 PC, a desktop, an iPad, iPhones and a Kindle tabled:
*While i'm surfing the web with my i-device (Safari), it may open a new tab with ad, hijack current tab with ad or hijack one of my "Open in a new tab" with ad - and I can't use the "back"function
*While i'm surfing the web with my i-device, it may open Apple Store to promote some game (king stuff, clash of something, etc)
*In my PC (Chome, IE), it also opens new tabs out automatically. Also, any page have a small-window with an ad that can't be closed in it's bottom-right corner

At first I thought it might be a problem with one of the devices and all... but:
* I run CC Cleaner and other malware/adware programs in my computer, but it didn't stop the adware
* I used both my iPhones outside my home network and the ad problems magically disappear: using the 3G network or my work's BYOD wireless "removes" the ads (didn't test with PC, however)

I did read somewhere in the net that it might be a problem with my router... so here I am.
How can I fix this? Can you guys please help me?

My home router is a NetGear R6050.

1. Reset your router to factory settings
2. create a strong administrative password on the router

this should fix your problems.

For Google's Chrome browser on your Windows 7 PC you can install Adblock Plus.

Also in Chrome Settings

Privacy

Click on the Content settings... button

Make sure that the Do not allow any site to show pop-ups (recommended) option is selected.

If your browser has already been hijacked you'll need to take some more intensive actions to get rid of it.

disable wireless--then change wireless password to a complicated one

change router log in user name and password

dont use wep security as its so easily crackable

disable wps in router settings----then enable wireless again

see if problem has gone

So... what did I do:
1) Upgrading NetGear firmware seemed to solve the problem, but it came back a couple days later

2) I reseted NetGear to factory specs, changed it's access password, all disconected form the internet. Also changed my modem (ARRIS TG862) access password.

Still, the problem persists.

Moreover, I went on and clicked at ad's proprieties... and they all link to Russian webpages (something.ru).

However, when I cleaned my laptop and used my iPhone as a personal hotspot, without being in the network, the laptop didn't show the ads and stuff.

I have a feeling that it's a self-installing virus of sorts, but on the other hand Ad-Aware, Malware Bytes and others can't clean it.

Any other ideas?

I'm getting desperate here

I helped someone who was from the Philippians a while ago who had the same issue, their issue turned out to be a bad isp.

Well... I live in Brazil, which sucks in terms of services... and as much as I hate my ISP, it's the largest ISP in the country (NET).

So that would be like AT&T spamming bad malware and russian advertise at US clients. Even if a part of me believes it's a real possibility, it's not the most likely one.

Obs.: Sample page it takes me to include many .RU sites and "adrots" something

youre not using wep wireless security?

and your wireless password isnt something simple?

by simple i mean all numbers or all letters and under say 10 characters

try hiding your ssid in the router config page and turn on mac address filtering with only your devices on the whitelist--though both these wont stop some one who knows what they are doing

does it still happen if you turn off wireless in the router and use a device connected by ethernet cable?

WEP -> I'm using WPA2(AES) Security. Actually, I always used it.

The (new) password to access both routers have 12 characters, mixing numbers and small/capital letters .

I'm currently hiding my SSID in the router, tought it would help

It does happen even if i'm connected by Ethernet cable, yes.

i would suggest trying a dfferent router--a lot of routers have been found to have security flaws

dont know if that particular model is one of them

This might seem absurd, but the ISP router firewall and security was turned off, which led to some program hacking it and changing the DNS in a weired way: every time something used google ads, it was hacked to pop up another russian ad...
So, reset router, change dns, turn security on... ready to go.

Turns out it was just a bad ISP (how the heck they don't turn their router's securities on is beyond me, btw)

doesnt surprise me--here in the uk a major isp/tv company sent out a huge amount of routers where the default security key was calculated using the mac address--the mac address is broadcast to anyone in range of the router

total stupidity--but they never recalled them just kept quiet about it
