No sound from Monitor Headphone Jack

Ever since I bought my headset, the headphone cord is plugged into the monitor headphone jack.

Suddenly today, whenever it's plugged into the monitor headphone jack, no sound plays at all.

Please help me.

in sound properties check your default audio device.

also check that the headset still works by plugging it directly into the pc.
