constant hissing sound from any speaker connected to the center output of 5.1 speaker system without 5.1 input

Hi, I am just inquiring that is it necessary to give a 5.1 input to my MJ 580 speaker system. In order to produce sound from all 6 speakers......as whenever I am switch on the subwoofer and plug the center speaker(rather any speaker) into the center Output...a constant HISSING sound is being produced.......irrespective of I play FM/AUX/USB/SD.....PLEASE guide me......thank u...

No. Most speaker systems/hometheatre systems emulate 5.1 artificially from a 2.0 (stereo) input. You just switch it to 'surround sound'.

Hissing sound could be from poor speaker connection.

No. I have switched it to 5.1 output as mine supports pro- logic mode also......but the hissing is continued... While all other speakers are working normal...I have properly plugged the speaker....do I require to provide a 5.1 input to make the center speaker work?

I have...done....done everything possible....as I am a new to this 5.1 system.....whatever I do...there is hissing sound from any speaker that I plug to the center output.....I think I should get a replacement.......

Can you change to stereo and check you have two channels going in?
