My sister-in-law needs a new laptop for her work. I haven't the furthest clue when it comes to laptops. She uses the software 20/20 Design. Personally I'd put together a desktop but she travels so that's out of the question.

She has an IT guy that's a friend of her boss, and he suggested the Dell Precision M6800. Though from what I heard he's diehard Dell and just want to make sure he's not being biased. Here's the quote she was given.

Cost wise the Dell was priced at $2500 and the Eurocom was just under $1900. Maybe someone can tell me why the Dell is higher and if it's really necessary or better yet which is the better of the two? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Solution
Yes, the dell laptop is better for her. The eurocom is more of a gaming laptop rather than a workstation. The gpu is a lot better than all the gpu's of the eurocom. The eurocom would be better if she was a gamer as the gtx 980m would have been better than the amd firepro.
What dgpu does the eurocom have as I can't see it in the specs you have given me? The main reason why dell is more expensive is because of the brand. Eurocom is a barebone's laptop that not many people know about. Based on the specs alone, the dell seems to be a better choice due to the amd fire pro gpu which is recommended in one of the software your sister in law uses. But without knowing the gpu of the eurocom I can't really say.

My apologies I thought it was in there. The current quote above would have the 4GB GDDR5; NVIDIA GTX 965M (N16E-GS); Maxwell (28nm); MXM 3.0b; 75W. For an additional $500 the 8GB GDDR5; NVIDIA GTX 980M (N16E-GX); 1536 CUDA; GPU/VRAM Clock 1038MHz/2500MHz; Maxwell (28nm); MXM 3.0b; 100W or 4GB GDDR5; NVIDIA Quadro K3100M (N15E-Q1); 768 CUDA; OpenGL; MXM 3.0b; 75W can be added.

So basically you're paying extra for the Dell name and the gpu?
