i am finally planning to buy laptop 14"-15" once with broadwell processor i5.
but the few which is available here are still carrying more usb 2.0 than usb 3.0 port. i believe all of them have only 1 usb 3.0 port n 2-3 usb 2.0 port.

and yes i am buying external things with usb 3.0 port now, rather than 2.0 version. ur external HDD and flash drive are both 3.0 so i would need more than 1 usb 3.0

firstly, why usb 2.0 is still more than 3.0.

secondly, which broadwell under $600-$650 is worth investing in. (office, home, streaming, n occasionally games) and which have more 3.0 port.

third, since skylake is going to be available next year, is it worth waiting that long, for my first laptop.

You know what i hate more? Why in the hell don`t more laptops adopt usb 3.1?! its just a better standart for laptops in general, no trouble plugging in stuff, good for plugging in monitors, charging the laptop...

I have several instances at work were things don't work in USB 3.0. Typically these are dongles for older equipment, and especially things that need to be run in XP Mode, or other virtual machines. We end up having to disable USB 3.0 in the BIOS so the ports operate at 2.0. However since this is an option on many laptops, I agree why bother at all with 2.0 now.
