Can I use headphone out jack to connect to analog stereo amp?

Hi I have a smart TV with only digital audio out, but also a headphone out jack. I need to connect RCA cables to a stereo amplifier, so I'm wondering if this headphone out jack is the proper way to connect to the amp

Yes, you can do that. The headphone level is a little high, so you'll want to keep the volume setting on your TV toward the low side, so it doesn't overwhelm your stereo inputs. You can adjust your TV volume such that the stereo speaker volume is the same compared to other inputs (so you don't get sudden volume increase when you switch to/from TV input).
