Hi guys,
I just purchased a Sony W600B, which is a smart TV. It does have the option to stream youtube videos from the youtube app on my phone to the TV by clicking on a square like icon to link the two. Now, I have an app on my phone for watching live TV from Greece, and I want to be able to watch it on my HDTV. I can't find a way to link my phone to my TV thru this app. I want to find a way to view on the TV what I'm viewing on my phone, or to install that app on my TV and access it from there. What are my options?

Not all tvs can do that, and not all phones will work with each tv since they both have to support the same wireless method, like Miracast or WiDi.
Generally, you have to go into the TV's settings and look for something like Device Hub or connections...etc. and you will have to scan for devices.

Miracast is supported on my TV. Under outputs there's "screen mirroring" and it says "Waiting for connection from wi-fi device. From wifi device, please connect to the TV"

What I don't understand is do I need to use my phone as hot spot in order for this to work, or should it work as long as both tv and phone are connected to my home wifi?

My phone is an LG Optimus F6 from Metro-it's a cheap phone but I'm sure it's capable..

I'm not sure how to do it in Android; I have Windows Phone 10 Technical Preview.
On mine, you have to go in and tell it to search for devices to connect to in something like a Device Hub on your phone. This provides a layer of security so that you phone is not just connecting to every device out there.

It is a similar process to setting up a Bluetooth connection.
