Hello everyone,
So my wife and I bought a new gaming laptop, and it's preinstalled with Windows 8.1.
At first, gaming was phenomenal, then after some Windows Updates, something changed...
Every so often, the games will suffer severe graphical lag as in huge framerate drops and slow downs. We've noticed also that within Task Manager the Disc Usage is typically at 98% and above.
We noticed that the hard drive was divided into 2 partitions unnecessarily. It's a 1TB HDD that was divided roughly 600/300. Odd, so we merged the 2 partitions. There are still 600MB recovery partitions so we didn't touch those.
So now, when playing any intense games, they'll run smoothly, then every 10 seconds or so, SLOW DOWN, then go back to normal. Repeat this forever.
The model laptop is this one: http/www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152560&cm_re=MSI_GE60-_-34-152-560-_-Product
