RAM Upgrade Issue

Hello! I have a Dell Dimension 9150 (Old I Know) and I was trying to upgrade my RAM a bit and after I went past two gigabytes the computer failed to boot and I was left with an annoying beeping noise coming from the motherboard. Is this desktop only capable of using two gigabytes or am I doing something wrong? Originally I had two ports with 512mb (1Gb). The BIOS's POST log says memory size different. Thanks in advance!

CPU: Pentium D 2.8Ghz @ 2 cores
GPU: AMD ATI 2400X 256mb
OS: Windows XP
RAM: 2Gb (atm)

According the Dell support forums, The maximum GB (RAM) is 4GB.

* Note Dell, should have on the back of the desktop computer, A B C D lights, If they are amber colored, depending on which letter Go to Dell's site for the answers to a possible problem.

Memory upgrade kit (I'm sure you can get a cheaper kit, but this is realiable.

the manual states on page 74 "Your computer supports a maximum of 4 GB of memory when you use four 1-GB DIMMs."

If your using 2 2Gb sticks then that is the problem

What size what the new RAM?
Are you try to mixed 2 512MB with 2 1GB?
