Can you mirror activity from one phone to another?

Ok, pretty (I'm assuming) common problem here...I moved to a new area, and my cell carrier has awful data coverage here (Sprint). Apparently, Verizon is the only carrier to go with in this area for reliable LTE coverage. Of course, I'm locked in with Sprint for two devices, the payoff of which is very high.

I'm eligible to sign up for a phone through my employer. It is a Verizon phone. What I'm wondering is...is there any function of smartphones, or an app possibly, that allows me to mirror all activity from one phone through another? In an ideal world, I could just leave my Sprint phone at home, but still get all calls and texts that come to it through the Verizon phone, and just use the VZW phone for data...

I'm aware of call-forwarding, but both Sprint and Verizon have informed me that that applies only to calls, not texts. I'm just hoping there's some next-level thing I could do.

Verizon does this thing now where if you transfer to them they give you credit for transfering, otherwise as far as like Apps and what now goes, the google sync is pretty good at that, for text you can try this

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.intensoft.smstransfer&hl=en

You can also get like a texting app and give people out that number instead or use Google Hangout and get a Google voice number (which you can setup for Voice Mail on Both phones and get all your Vm's in one place vs 2)and use the Hangout for texting. But try that one. Just look for text/SMS Fowarding apps.

if it is an iPhone I know they have call/text fowarding to your Mac/iPad but not sure if they have it from iPhone to iPhone.
