USB port to HDMI for tv

I have an older laptop. I have a 32 in vizio flat screen tv with 3 HDMI ports. My laptop does t have a HDMI but i was wondering if I could use a USB port to HDMI to watch it in HD. Would that work, would it have audio, and would I have to download software to watch my laptop on my tv

That will not work, USB does not output video. I am guessing your laptop probably has a VGA output that you can use for video. You would need to connect the aux output on your laptop to your TV for audio.

I haven't used it myself, but I believe your best bet is to connect your laptop to HDMI wirelessly using a Chromecast device, then stream content using the Chrome browser on your laptop.
