Why is Google Chrome overheating my laptop's CPU?

One day my fans in my laptop were really loud, so I checked HWmonitor, and my CPU temps were around 70-90 degrees Celsius. All I was doing was using chrome. I thought that an application may have been causing it to overheat, so I reset my laptop (it was new so I didn't have anything big on it) and my CPU temps fell back to 30-50 degrees Celsius. I then installed chrome, and the CPU temps went up again. Why is chrome making my laptop overheat? Task manager says that it is only using a tiny bit of my CPU. On my computer with a cooler master nepton 240m, the CPU temps stay at around 30 degrees Celsius, so I'm also curious why it is only overheating my laptop.

Thanks

i have the same problem on my laptop , but its not of too much concern, i have a i7-4700mq, and as soon as i launch chrome, my cpu usage would spike to 99% and the temps would go from 40- 70c (2.4ghz) with the turbo boost enabled... with the boost enabled and the cpu running at 3.4ghz, the cpu would shoot upto 86c almost immediately... so i usually use the laptop always without it ... hence its runs cooler... and i cannot notice any slowdown in performance either in things like gaming and video editing. and yes i have replaced the thermal paste with arctic silver 5 and the fans and heatsink are practically clean ... but this is still an 4c improvement over the stock thermal paste, since before it would hit 90c briefly which would cause...
