Hello everyone,

I have been searching for a laptop that I can use for gaming and work. I also need a laptop that will still be relevant 3-5 years from now. My budget was originally around $1,500 but have now stretched to around $2,000 to $2,200 to make sure I get the best laptop that will last for 4-5 years and will be able to let me play games on high settings for at least the next 3-4 years. I have been researching for a while now and have settled on the following laptop. Please let me know if this will be sufficient for my needs as described above. Or if you have an alternative in that price range whose specs are better than this and if you think it's a better laptop, please do let me know. Thanks.

Sager NP9772 (Clevo P770ZM) (Total cost around $2,200)

My only worry about this setup is the desktop cpu. Do you really need that power as it will cause the laptop to heat up quite a bit. Also the cpu is not that important in games. A i7 - 4700MQ should do for most games.

Thanks. Well, I want a CPU that will be powerful enough for the next 4-5 years and will be able to handle games coming out 3-4 years from now. I have seen another option where the specs are the same as above but the processor is 4810MQ. Will it be better for a laptop vs 4790K? Please advise.

Ok, I think I am pretty confident about the laptop that will serve me best. I am down to the following 2 laptops but about 80% leaning towards Sager NP8268-S (Clevo P150SM-A).

Please advise which one of the two you recommend:

1.Sager NP8268-S (Clevo P150SM-A) - Price $1,541.33 (with Cash discount) - i7 4710MQ, Free IC Diamond Thermal Compound, GeForce GTX 970M (6GB), 16GB RAM, 128GB SSD + 1TB HDD, Windows OS 8.1 64bit

2. Sager NP8651 (Clevo P650-SE) - Price $1,444.33 (with Cash discount) - i7 4720HQ, Stock OEM Thermal Compound, GeForce GTX 970M (3GB), 16GB RAM, 128GB SSD + 1TB HDD, Windows OS 8.1 64bit

Anyone care to comment?

The sager is more powerful as it has more vram but that is only important if you are planning to play the game at ultra settings. You could upgrade the gpu to a gtx 980m if you want a boost in fps but this is only recommended if you are planning to be playing on external monitors.

Well NP8651 has a beautiful all metal slim design, but downside is that there is no dvd drive. On BF4 it is almost always 50+fps on ultra. The cooling on the laptop is absolute insane, I have yet to see this go to 80c. If you play old games like I do it will be only around 50c-60c. NP8268-S is an older clevo but has really good cooling too. With Clevo P150SM-A you get a thicker more plastic design but comes with a dvd drive or bluray, also its back lit keyboard is customizable. Graphics card def the 6gb one, just a little better performance though, so I would consider just adding a few more bucks and upgrade to 980m.
