I currently have the standard 4GB of RAM,2.13GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 250GB storage in my Mid 2009 Mac Book Pro and would like to up upgrade. Apple states max is 8GB ram, 500GB storage is it alright to quadruple the specs?
will this cause any harm for my laptop?

Solution
Quadruple? As long as you upgrade to 8gb max (2 x 4g) you should be good. As for hard drives, i have a 1 TB in my 2010 and a friend has a 1 TB in their 2007 so I'm sure your mac will handle it just fine
