Hi,

I have samsung np370r5e-so5in laptop. My laptop came with Windows 8. When i bought it i don't like windows 8, so i converted my hard disk from GPT to MBR and installed windows 7. Now i want to install windows 8.1 in my laptop, i want to convert my hard disk from MBR to GPT. To do that i have created Hiren Boot CD in USB. The problem is when i boot from my pendrive the hiren boot is showing only 4 options instead of showing the option to boot the mini xp. The following options are displaying for me.

1. find/menu/lst, /boot/grub/menu.lst, /HBCD/menu
2. command line
3. reboot
4. halt

If i click the first option, the following message is displaying. "Minimal BASH-like editing is supported. For lists possible command completions. Anywhere else completions of a device/filename. ESC at any time.
grub>

Moreover, i have secure boot option in BOOT. If i enable secure boot, my system is not booting. It shows another error message "All boot options are tried, press F4 to continue are something like this..... Please tell me how to convert my hard disk from MBR to GPT, and tell me how to enable secure boot.

If it is possible please tell me any location to download OEM Version of Windows 8 because when i try to install new Windows 8 from Microsoft site it says the key is for OEM version and not for retail version. I don't have the original backup image.

Moreover, currently i have installed windows 8.1 in MBR disk, but it takes long time to boot into the OS.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Thanks for your immediate replay, I tried that if i enable uefi its showing the same error all boot options are tried, press F4 to boot in to recovery. If i enable both CSM and UEFI then only my system boots. Even if i set my option to boot from USB its not working.

My current system settings is in CSM or UEFI only, i installed windows 8.1 in this mode, its working but its not very fast. there is a very big boot time difference if you enable UEFI mode. Its faster than CSM or UEFI mode that's why i am trying to enable that option.

I RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM : you change your bios config
you enter to "boot" and change your boot mode to legacy support" and " boot priority to legacy first"
good luck
