Good Build For Friend

Solution
PSU is not that great, you would be better off doing 2x8gb over 4x4gb on memory (just less to have compatibility issues), and you can get a better GPU for cheaper.
This is better, cheaper RAM, cheaper but good air cooler and higher quality PSU:

BTW... I recommend the Z97-A/USB3.1 motherboard instead, having usb 3.1 will future proof your system a little bit.

I will second Boosted1g on the power supply and ram.

The video card is really overpriced based on what you are getting.

Look for a GTX 970($330-$440) or a R9 290($260-$330) or R9 290x($290-$400) for near that same price if not less than the 770.

Better GPU, higher quality power supply (the B2/G2 series are made with higher quality components over b1/g1), changed ram to 2x8gb

Dropping to an air cooler and a less expensive case for being able to get an SSD is a very good trade off.
The define r4 case is very nice and often on sale for $80.

If just gaming 16gb wont get you anything over 8gb and when it does become helpful, just get another 8 gb.

The psu though is too low of wattage to support a r9-290 or gtx-970 (it will run a 970 but you will be running it at pretty much max)

I suspect 520W may be a little low for a R9 290, but should be fine for the GTX970; don't they recommend 450W for that one? Which accounts (in part) for liar-labels? Mine only has a single 8-pin PCIe power connector, which means the card can't be pulling any more than 225W to remain in-spec for PCIe.

Second the Define R4. That's on my [very] Short List if I build another ATX system any time soon.

Revised with SSD, 8gb ram, air cooler, and define r4.
