I did a quick search on the topic and didn't find anything. Yesterday, I decided to try Intel Rapid Start on an HP ultrabook that originally had it. I had done a clean install of Windows 8.1 and never reinstalled it. Per the directions I created a new partition and put the correct ID for use with a UEFI system. The program installed and I did a quick test and it showed active and appeared to work when I let it sleep and then awakened the system. When I went to awaken the system the second time it gave me the locked Windows screen but wouldn't allow me to log in. I was frozen. When I restarted the computer I ended up with a "no Boot OS found." I tried to do a system restore but the Windows install disk found nothing to restore. In fact, when I went to install it fresh, I found that the computer was showing the entire drive as "unallocated." I have no clue what happened but after reinstalling Windows again and trying again, it did the same thing. Can anyone think of what I'm doing wrong and why Rapid Start is killing my data?
