I have a Thule Audio IA 100 couple with a pair of Dynaudio 52's, I'd like to add a power amp in the mix, but I have no idea how to do this, if it's even possible and if it is how to connect the two? The Thule IA 100 has a switch on the back that says NORMAL and MAIN IN - normal is how it is now, cd-player, other inputs, on MAIN IN it doesn't say anything.

Anyways.... help? I'm stupid.

The Thule is an integrated amp, it has both a pre and power amp in one box. You don't need a separate power amp.

You should be able to connect the speakers to the speaker terminals on the amp with normal speaker cable.

Haven't actually considered yet, I really love this amp, guess it was 1200 USD when I bought it ten years ago and it is combined with a cd-player from the same manufacturer. I'd need to think about budget, I guess. I was looking at something used at around 300 USD.

You could just use the Pre Out on your Thule and plug that into another Power Amp, but then that would bypass the power amp in the Thule. That would be fine, but you said you really liked the sound of the Thule, this would change that. The only option would be to upgrade to a higher powered Thule amp, but that would be expensive.

Ok, oh well, I'll live with it :) Thanks for your help, I'll look at finding somehting used. However, people have a somewhat unrealistic idea of what their 10+ year old systems are worth...

Run Lake I am attempting to connect Marantz PM8005, with a 'Power Amp Direct ' option and a pre amp hook up, to Marantz MM7055 as my pre amp. Have you ever worked this out with your system ? Could you, would you share with me if you have. I know it can be done but don't want to blow up my system in experimentation.....thanks so much!
