hey,
I want to upgrade my laptop processor from intel core i3 330m to intel core i7 620m.
I did some research about what i am about to upgrade and i found out that intel core i3 330m and i7 620m have the same socket which is socket G1.
Any help?

You need to check whether the laptop motherboard is capable of the i7 processor. One way to check this is to look at the manufacturer's website and see whether they offer the same laptop with different configurations which include the i7.

If the above check is OK, then you can change the CPU. One thing to keep in mind is that the it has a higher TDP, and generates more heat. This might become an issue under heavy loads, such as gaming.

Well I'm not sure if the processor is welded to the socket but both processors were released in 2010 using the 32nm process. so I won't recommend you to upgrade this laptop, you won't see a huge performence upgrade.
