I am looking at upgrading my laptop, and I like the look MSI's laptops, could someone recommend the best 15.6 inch laptop they have for around £900 - this is my absolute limit. And Also the best place to buy them in either the UK or US, although a laptop with a UK keyboard is my preference.

hello there as a proud owner of a MSI laptop may i recommend this one

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152711

according to my research your 900 price tag equals 1,300$ US dollars and that laptop is the same one i own you can upgrade the memory to 16gb and it supports up to 3 M.2 SSD drives as i am not familiar with the UK i dont know any websites that sell that laptop in your country, the model number and such will probably be different in your country from the one i suggested but i sure you should have no troulbes finding a similiar one. hope this helps feel free to ask me any more questions sincerely a fellow MSI fan

Wow that laptop looks amazing, I have relatives over in the states and will be going to see them in a couple of months so I will be able to buy it from newegg and get the $100 off. Could you comment on the performance of the GTX 965M? And how many different colours can the backlit keyboard do?

hello there hope you enjoy you visit over here in the states as far as the keyboard colors go its pretty much user selectable there is an app you open and you select a profile and there is a color wheel consisting of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, dark blue, purple and each color option has the ability to go from very light to dark my current config is the wave where the left side is red and it transitions into green in the middle and the blue on the right side. now as for the gtx 965m i have been playing far cry 4 on medium settings without using the special fan button to increase the fan speed it does get pretty loud but thats typical being under load i can feel the heat coming out of the 2 exaust vents in the rear, when i installed far cry 4 it defaulted to high graphics settings but i have been enjoying it on medium with no problems and it looks great, i have a laptop desk i bought just for my laptop as i have limited space and it works wonders its made of cheap wood im sure but still i have no over heating problems im sure if i bought a laptop cooler i could play far cry 4 on hihg settings with no worries, i would also like to note i been playing for 2 hours straight at a time and never noticed any issues at all i currently have league of legends installed and fifa 15 league runs flawlessly havent tried fifa yet and im still using the drive that came with this machine 1tb 5400 rpm drive because i didnt know the correct length of the M.2 drive this laptop needs so im waiting on a refund before i can buy the correct SSD hope this helps good luck to ya feel free to ask me anymore questions sincerely an MSI fan

I thought the drive in it was 7200rpm not 5400rpm? Also most of the specs I have seen on it say it has 2 usb 3.0 ports when it looks like it has 3 usb 3.0 ports and what dimension M.2 drive will fit in the laptop? Lastly does the logo on the back light up? Many Thanks

hello again yes you are correct it is a 7200rpm drive not 5400rpm and yes it has 3 usb 3.0 ports and only 1 usb 2.0 port, you will need a M.2 drive with a length of 80mm i have yet to get one to verify 100% but after some measurements on the first drive i bought which was wrong size im almost certain its 80mm im still waiting for a refund from newegg so i can buy the right size and yes the msi logo on the top of laptop lid does light up. feel free to ask any more questions and keep me updated

hi psycrow, I got the the laptop (same guy that started the thread I just logged in with Google this time instead). It works exceptionally well, I still cannot believe the performance of it. I managed to get it back to the UK ok and have a UK cable for the power supply which works, so no adapters needed. Thanks to some awesome packing by my relatives I managed to get the box back by flat packing it, only problem is I can't work out how to refold two of the cardboard inserts. Do you mind sending me some pictures of the inside of your laptop box?
